Pedersen has worked with a wide range of local, state, and federal clients including the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Administration for Community Living, Agency on Aging, Maryland Health Care Commission, Department of Labor International Labor Affairs Bureau, and Montgomery County Office of Community Partnerships. Pedersen led a community-based participatory needs assessment of the African and Caribbean communities of Maryland’s Montgomery County on behalf of the County’s Office of Community Partnerships.She supported the design and implementation of an evaluation of the Community-Based Alternatives to Detention Pilot Program at the University of Maryland, and at the National Center for Health Research, she assisted with the design and implementation of an initiative to improve patient navigation among women diagnosed with breast cancer. Pedersen also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi where she worked with women and youth groups to promote healthy decision making, life skills, and business development.
