levels of dating Android widget textview not updating

I created a simple home screen widget that displays names generated from a database.I added a button to refresh the name in the Text View, but the problem is the widget does not update.I am not using custom intent here, just the basic one.

I have set a pending intent on a text view so that when it is clicked the text of the text view (content1) changes. , the Remove Views you pass in needs to "contain a complete representation of the widget". Remote Views; public class todo_widget extends App Widget Provider My problem is that the text view in on Recieve method does not get updated when the Action_widget_refresh is true. The intent works fine, the on Update runs after the on Receive, but the text is not updated.I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that a different context, App Widget Manager, or app Widget Ids are being used.
